First of all, congratulations for having 15 happy years with your furry friend!

Yours is a special case where it would be good to know Tori's prognosis. OS is an ugly aggressive disease. But I was given 3-4 months at the time of my surgery, and the cancer hasn't reared its ugly head until now, over 16 months later.

If you love tori, it should be all about quality of life now, not quantity. You might want a second opinion, x-rays, or other additional tests to see what kind of time amputation and treatme
nt might buy you.

Best of luck ... please keep us posted and/or seek further advice in the <a href="http://www.tripawds.com/forums/" title="canine cancer help and support"/> Tripawd Discussion Forums</a>.

My dog, Tori, is 15 yrs old and recently diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Our Vet feels she is too old for the surgery and gave her pain meds and antibiotics. She was doing so well that even the limping stopped but today she took a turn. She is panting more with pain and I gave her more meds but all she can do is lay for a few minutes then get up....she's a bit stir crazy.

I did not ask the vet how long she had because I did not want to know but after researching and reading several sites on senior dogs with this cancer I understand it is a rapid disease. If you have any words of wisdom please share with me.

Thank You!
